Every great adventure begins with someone you cannot imagine leaving behind.
For us, that “someone” is actually three very different animals: Mudbug, Mardi Gras, and Pistachio. Together, they are the heart of Good Miles Pet Co. and the reason we believe every pet deserves to be part of the journey.
Meet Mudbug
Mudbug is our sweet baby boy.
He was born with a form of dwarfism that gave him short, stubby legs and a look that is completely his own. He may be built a little closer to the ground, but his personality is enormous.
Mudbug reminds us that adventure does not look the same for every pet. Some dogs can charge down a trail without slowing down. Others need shorter walks, extra support, or a comfortable place to rest along the way.
None of that means they should be left behind.
Mudbug helped inspire our belief that pet travel gear should be dependable, comfortable, and designed for real animals—not just the picture-perfect pets you see in advertisements.
Meet Mardi Gras
Mardi Gras is Mudbug’s younger, full-sized brother.
Where Mudbug has short legs and a steady pace, Mardi Gras brings the energy. He is always ready to see what is around the next corner, investigate a new smell, or turn an ordinary outing into an adventure.
The brothers may be built differently, but they belong together. Watching them explore side by side taught us something important: the right equipment has to work for different sizes, personalities, and ways of traveling.
It needs to be rugged enough for the energetic dog, practical enough for the careful traveler, and comfortable enough for both.
Meet Pistachio
Then there is Pistachio, our sweet and gentle cat.
Pistachio has never scratched anyone, but meeting new people and being left alone can make him anxious. He feels safest when he knows his family is close.
Cats like Pistachio are often treated as though they should always stay home. We do not believe that has to be the case. With patience, security, and the right carrier, an anxious cat can remain close to the people he trusts without being overwhelmed.
Even with his social anxiety, Pistachio loves being outdoors. He never wanders far, though—he prefers finding a quiet patch of sunshine, taking in the fresh air, and watching the world while keeping his family close. For Pistachio, adventure is not about how far he travels. It is about feeling safe enough to enjoy the world beyond the front door.
Pistachio reminds us that bringing the whole family is not only about fun. Sometimes, it is about helping a pet feel safe.
